Our customer — a dedicated Vietnamese ZIP screen manufacturer — needed to move beyond fragmented, semi-automated equipment toward a single, intelligent production line capable of handling fabric storage, precision cutting, welding, and inspection at scale.

The Challenge

• Disconnected workflows: storage, cutting, and welding were separate manual steps, causing idle waiting and handling errors between jobs.
• Fabric waste & inconsistency: blade-only cutting could not deliver clean, sealed edges on delicate and technical ZIP screen fabrics.
• Storage chaos: unorganized fabric rolls wasted floor space and slowed retrieval, while finished blinds lacked proper staging.
• Inspection bottleneck: verifying long ZIP screens for zip alignment and weld quality was slow and labor-intensive.
• Multi-vendor complexity: mixing machines from different suppliers meant fragmented controls, retraining, and divided after-sales responsibility.

RIDONG delivered a complete, single-vendor production line of seven machines, engineered so that the two cutting tables work hand-in-hand with the fabric storage systems to realize fully automated, intelligent storage-retrieval-cutting — all driven by one unified operating system:

The defining feature of this line is the tight integration between the two cutting tables and the fabric storage systems. Both the blade cutting table and the ultrasonic cutting table are directly paired with the 300-roll Intelligent Fabric Roll Storage System, forming a seamless, software-controlled workflow:

Operator sets parameters → system identifies and retrieves the required roll → roll is transported and fed to the cutting station → cutting is executed automatically.

Because storage retrieval runs in parallel with cutting, the next roll is already being pulled and positioned while the current one is still being cut. There is no idle waiting, no manual roll handling, and no guesswork — and the entire storage-retrieval-cutting sequence is controlled through ONE unified operating system, so operators manage the whole line from a single interface rather than juggling multiple control panels.

How the Seven Machines Work Together

Dual cutting methods for every fabric: The blade cutting table handles heavy PVC awning canvas and blackout composites, while the ultrasonic cutting machine seals edges on sheer, coated, and technical textiles — the customer gets the right tool for every ZIP screen material, both at 3.2 m × 6.0 m scale.

300-roll storage feeding both cutters: The intelligent storage system unloads and positions the next roll while a cutter is still working — a major throughput gain for high-mix ZIP screen orders.

40-roll blind storage for downstream flow: Finished and semi-finished blinds are staged in organized racks, cutting manual handling, rework, and floor-space waste.

6 m double-sided welding for ZIP screen assembly: The double-sided welding machine solders pockets, zippers, and joiners — and both sides can be operated simultaneously to improve efficiency. This delivers the consistent, weather-tight seams essential for exterior ZIP screens.

Dual inspection hoists for fast QC: Two inspection hoists lift long ZIP screens for rapid, ergonomic inspection of zip alignment and weld seams — eliminating the quality bottleneck and keeping operators safe.

Deployment Status — Ready for Production

The complete seven-machine line was fully deployed and installed on August 27, 2026. Production is scheduled to begin in September 2026 — just weeks after installation.

They handled the full installation, commissioning, and operator handover: aligning every machine, validating the unified storage-retrieval-cutting workflow end to end, running proof samples, and training the customer's team on day-to-day operation and maintenance.
